Nine thugs are in court following their involvement in the islamophobic riots in Nottingham on August 3.
Hearings have been taking place at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court in the weeks following the events in the city. Janine McKinney from the Crown Prosecution Service stated that the legal actions taken reflect the consequences for those involved in criminal behaviour.
Several defendants faced charges related to their actions during the riots, with guilty pleas resulting in sentences ranging from suspended prison terms to community service. Some individuals, including Paul Dixon and Tony Campion, received immediate prison sentences.
The cases of other defendants, including Owen Lawrence and Mervyn Lewis, have been adjourned for trial later in the year. These developments follow the conviction of Victoria Gray earlier in August.
